In the recent past, I have been working for various companies as a project manager, integration or test manager, organizing the tests 100% remotely within the scope of various SAP projects (ECC EHP upgrades or S/4HANA implementations or transactions) using the Accelerated Testing Package as well as MS Teams as a collaboration tool (see also BLOG 24 and BLOG 19), setting them up with the key users and then orchestrating, managing and monitoring their execution.

I have found that this is a great help and a significant motivating factor for the key users involved, as well as a significant relief for the project management. I therefore offer you this service as an independent defined service – thus you have the possibility to outsource the entire test management in a defined and competent way and to relieve your project management from it.

This service includes, in addition to accompanying consulting for your project management based on my many years of intensive experience in this field, the following in particular:

 

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
  • Provision of all necessary components of the Accelerated Testing Environment for the duration of the project, i.e. you do not need to purchase them for the duration of the assignment.
  • Coaching in the definition and documentation of the test concept for the entire project cycle, if not already in place (i.e. functional and unit tests; integration and system tests; user acceptance tests and any necessary regression tests; in each case for this: test scope, systems, responsibilities, scheduling)
  • Coaching in the identification of the effective procedure for the initial construction of the test scripts, taking into account your specific starting position (existing material from previous integration or regression tests or process documentation available in another form)
  • Provision of the required xlsx templates and some examples for the creation of the test scripts in all required languages
  • Set-up of a task management in Microsoft Planner (MS teams) for the creation of the test scripts in all required languages incl. linking of the test scripts stored on the SharePoint
  • Creation of a How-To presentation and a How-To Wiki in MS teams for the creation of the test scripts in all required languages
  • Preparation and execution of a kick-off meeting for the creation of the test scripts (per MS teams optionally in DE and/or EN)(see example)
  • Monitoring and management of the creation of test scripts
    • Including storage in SharePoint
    • Including required one-on-one coaching and selective support where needed (optionally in DE or EN)
    • Including quality assurance of created test scripts
    • Includes dedicated daily status reporting
  • Set-up of a task management in Microsoft Planner (MS teams) for the execution of the respective tests
  • Execution of necessary automated translations of test scripts (i.e. test scripts from the template or pilot for further rollouts)
  • Creation of a How-To presentation and a How-To Wiki in MS teams for the execution of the respective tests in all required languages
  • Preparation and execution of a kick-off meeting for the test implementation (per MS teams optionally in DE and/or EN)
  • Monitoring and management of test execution
    • Including the organization of filing in SharePoint
    • Including required one-on-one coaching and selective support where needed (optionally in DE or EN)
    • Including validation and quality assurance processed test scripts
    • Including dedicated daily status reporting and filing in the Teams Wiki (optionally in DE and/or EN and other languages) – both at the level of the test cases/tasks

      • including a traffic light reporting per test team/function
      • Including daily determination of path-back-to-green per delayed test team/function.
      • including the identification and prioritization of critical problems to be solved as a matter of priority for the progress of the test
    • Including the execution of regular status meetings and, if requested, daily stand-ups (per MS teams optionally in DE and/or EN)
  • Obtaining formal approvals / acceptances of performed tests according to your specifications
  • Securing documentation of executed tests (test scripts and status reporting)
  • Re-initialization of the test scripts and the planner for all necessary test cycles
  • Provision of a complete set of master test scripts in all necessary languages for future regression testing in the context of productive operation

 

YOUR COOPERATION OBLIGATIONS

In order for me to provide these services for your project I only need:

  • A (guest) membership in a team set up for this purpose in MS Teams; in this team, all those involved in the test should also be members
  • (Guest) access to the areas belonging to the team in SharePoint and MS Planner

 

COMMERCIAL PROCESSING VARIANTS

Different billing models are possible for the commercial processing of this service:

  • Billing according to time and effort
  • Billing with fixed monthly fees for the duration of the implementation (depending on the mutually agreed scope (especially languages to be supported and desired services)
  • Invoicing at a fixed price with defined results and a concrete schedule (depending on the mutually agreed scope (especially languages to be supported and desired services)
